Setting Yourself Apart as a Leader
In today’s rough and tumble job market, it takes a unique skill set to get an edge over the competition. Employers are always looking for people with the ability to think on their feet and act decisively under stressful situations. In other words, problem solving skills are a highly desirable attribute. Luckily, problem solving is a basic part of our human instinct. Just as our ancestors had to learn to forage for food and outwit their prey on the hunt, we are charged with solving modern day problems.
In order to tap into that primal instinct of reacting quickly and correctly to a problem, we need to keep our minds active. Brain function and efficiency are not constants that can never be improved. On the contrary, the more we take part in problem solving games and theoretical scenarios, the better honed our brain is to deal with the real thing. If you’re able to think in a nimble manner and make crucial decisions, you will be viewed as a leader rather than a follower.
Accelerated Learning
We live in a hurried and stressed world. We forget to “smell the flowers” and ever to breathe. When we are stressed the last thing we want to hear is “relax”. This merely makes us more tense. We are less inclined for any self improvement ideas and we tend to do what we’ve always done. We are not receptive. Learning at this time might be nothing more than memorization.
Accelerated learning deals with 3 key ingredients; how to achieve a relaxed yet receptive mind set, and how to presentaton of information in new ways that involve both sides of the brain.
